What it is
Render fails for reasons. Cracking, drummy hollow sections, blown edges and staining are all symptoms, and patching over a symptom without understanding it means doing the same repair again in two years. So we start by working out why the wall failed.
Once the cause is dealt with, the repair itself is a matching exercise. Cutting back to sound material, rebuilding in compatible layers, and blending texture and colour into the surrounding wall so the patch reads as part of the elevation rather than a scar across it.
Why it's worth it
We identify why it failed — movement, moisture, poor bond or original workmanship — before quoting a repair.
Existing texture is matched on a sample area first, so the repair blends into the wall rather than patching over it.
Sealing cracks and re-bonding drummy sections shuts down the path water is using to get behind the coating.
Where the bulk of the wall is sound, targeted repair costs a fraction of stripping and re-rendering an elevation.
Cracks are cut out, filled with the right flexible product and reinforced — not just skimmed over with filler.
If a wall is past repairing economically, we'll tell you that instead of selling you a patch job that won't hold.
Our process
We sound the wall to map drummy areas, read the crack pattern, and look for the moisture source or movement causing it.
Failed render is removed back to well-bonded material and the exposed substrate is cleaned and prepared.
The patch is built back up in compatible coats, with mesh reinforcement where the repair crosses a stress point or joint.
Texture is matched into the surrounding surface and the area is coated — often taking the finish coat to the nearest natural break so there is no visible edge.
Who it's for
Good to know
On a textured wall that's due for a re-coat, effectively yes. On an existing weathered finish, a patch will always be detectable close up because the surrounding surface has years of UV on it. Coating the full elevation afterwards is what makes a repair truly disappear — we'll price both options.
